Mr. Gerald "Jerry" Edward Harsin, 61, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 29, 1995 at Willis Knighton Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be held at Osborn Funeral Home, 3631 Southern Ave, beginning at 5PM Monday. Funeral services will begin at 2PM Tuesday, August 1, 1995 at Osborn Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Regan Miller, Pastor of the New Hebron Baptist Church. Masonic graveside services follow at Forest Park Cemetery. Mr. Harsin was a native of Albion, Nebraska and had been a resident of the Shreveport area since 1960. He was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge #1254, Waskom, Texas, and the Karubah Shrine Temple. He is survived by his wife, June Harsin; two sons; Thomas Glen Harsin and Michael Ray Harsin; one daughter, Cynthia Ann Harsin; three grandchildren, Bobbie Ann, Tera Lynn, and Robin Nicole Harsin; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Burkey, Karen Slaughter, and Joyce Cross;. two brothers, Gary Harsin and Dale Harsin. Pallbearers will be C.H. Tuggle, Al Costello, Lewis McGee, Vernon Rich, Bill George, and Chuck Unsworth. Honorary pallbearers will me Cantell and ray Young. The family wishes to express their sincere heart felt appreciation to the nurses and staff of the Willis Knighton Medical Center, 4 East Medical Tower.

Bethany, LA. -- Gerald "Jerry" Edward Harsin, 61, of Bethany, died July 29, 1995, at Bethany.
A funeral was Aug. 1 with the Rev. Regan Miller of New Hebron Baptist Church officiating. Masonic graveside services were held at Forest Park Cemetery.
He was born Aug 8, 1933, at Albion, Neb., to Glen and Doris Harsin and was raised in the Mitchell area and attended the Sunflower School. After serving in the Air Force, he and his wife, June, moved to Bethany. He received his bachelor's degree in secondary education. He was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church; Masonic Lodge 1254 of Waskom, TX and the El Karubah Shrine Temple.
He is survived by his wife June; daughter Cynthia Harsin of Bethany; sons and daughter-in-laws Thomas and Janet Harsin of Houston and Michael and Wendy Harsin of Bethany; grandchildren Bobbie Tera of Houston and Robin Harsin of Bethany; sisters Margaret Burkey of Scottsbluff, Joyce Cross of Montana, and karen Slaughter of Council Bluffs, Iowa; brothers Gary Harsin of Windsor, Colo., and Dale Harsin of Alma; stepfather Lige Hawley of Scottsbluff; stepbrothers Ray and Bob Hawley of Scottsbluff; and stepsisters Shirley Bauer of Casper, Wyo., and Carol Wimmer of Scottsbluff; and several cousins in the Scottsbluff area.
